This is a relaxed and informal environment that encourages ‘back to basics’ Bible reading and where people are free to ask questions. We will have Bibles available for you to use. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.

Bible Teaching: Heaven, Hell, and the Devil

So you think you know about Christianity? Good people go to heaven, bad people go to hell, and the devil is a fallen angel that tries to get people to sin so he can torture them in hell. Right?

Wrong.

If God is good, then how could he consign people to everlasting fiery torment and suffering? If we go straight to heaven or hell when we die, then why does the Bible talk about resurrection and judgement - what would be the point if everyone had already ‘got what they deserved’? And if the devil is an external force that leads us away from God, then why are we held accountable for our sins when ‘the devil made me do it’?

This month we will be covering some of the key misconceptions about heaven, hell, and the devil - both in popular culture and in many mainstream Christian churches.
