Community Bible reading sessions
The Gospel of Mark
On Sunday afternoons we are holding an open Bible reading session at the Greenmeadows Centre in Stoke. Members of the public are welcome to join us as we read and discuss God’s word the Bible.
This is a relaxed and informal environment that encourages ‘back to basics’ Bible reading and where people are free to ask questions. We will have Bibles available for you to use. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.

The Kingdom of God
When Jesus came into the world, he didn’t just give us good moral teachings on how to live, but he came to proclaim the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God had been foretold by prophets in the Old Testament and by promises that God had made to Abraham and to King David.
During the time of Jesus, the Jewish community believed that the Messiah (Hebrew for ‘anointed one’ = Christ in Greek) would come and destroy the ruling Roman empire and establish a Jewish based kingdom on the earth.
However when Jesus came, he completely overthrew the preconceived ideas of the Jewish leaders about the Kingdom of God, and said that all nations would have the opportunity to be included in it, not just the Jews.
Join us as we look at the Kingdom of God and how you can be part of it.
